Fashionable Films: The Hateful Eight and The Revenant

A costume drawing for Tom Hardy's character in The Revenant
Once a major genre, we haven't seen many great Westerns in the last forty years, so it was a welcome change that this year's Oscar contender movies brought us not one, but two films that celebrate the Old West.  Life for the characters of The Hateful Eight and The Revenant is gritty, dark, and full of hardship, but they also have some really amazing coats.  These are some of our favorite style moments from both films, which are in the running for Best Picture - only The Revenant is in the running for Best Costume Design, though.

What We're Talking About This Week

We highly recommend this quintessential, classic guide to LA for an out-of-towner.  We have shared our love of the Huntington Library, the Getty Villa, and Dan Tana's before, and there are many other favorites on this list.

As women, we don't always think to travel alone, but there a lot of benefits to it.  You can learn a lot about yourself, build your confidence, and see the world in a way that truly appeals to you.  This article is very inspiring...

Last weekend, the Renegade Craft Fair made a stop in LA, and now it's moving on to San Francisco, where it'll be in residence for three days at Fort Mason before heading further up the coast to Portland.

This tongue in cheek post, If Tom Hardy Were Your Boyfriend, had us laughing nonstop.  It's an amazing - and hilarious - fantasy.  LEGEND.

San Francisco has gotten increasingly pricey in the past few years, but there are still some delicious (and sometimes exotic) food deals in the city, as this list helps to show.
