High Style at the Legion of Honor

We recently visited the High Style exhibit at the Legion of Honor. All of the sartorial items are on loan from the Brooklyn Museum Costume Collection and are from 1910 to 1980. Here are some of our favorites:
Hand crafted shoes featuring antique lace

Evening ensembles with antique lace by Callot Soeurs, ca. 1913

Schiaparelli insect necklace

Evening ensemble by Sorelle Fontana, ca 1954 for the film Barefoot Contessa

Intricate Dior detailing

Tiger print Marie Antoinette style dress

The exhibit runs until July 19th. For more information visit the museum site here.

  4. What an exhibition! The insect necklace is so unusual and it must have been so great walking through a history of fashion :)
