GOOP MRKT

We recently visited GOOP's San Francisco pop-up and found so many beautiful things.
The shop is housed in a building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

We highly recommend a visit. It's open daily until May 22.

This zodiac gift guide is perfect for the astrology fan in your life.

This San Francisco food lovers list is full of great last minute options for anyone who lives in the Bay Area.

The editors of Domino have amazing taste and have put together an incredible amount of suggestions for almost everyone in your life.

Likewise, Goop does a fabulous gift guide... full of both reasonably priced items and the splurges they're known for.

This beautiful guide is California-centric, featuring items located/designed/produced in our favorite state.

For the friend who has everything, Town & Country has this guide for the uptown girl - we are coveting it all for ourselves.

What We Are Talking About This Week

Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop is doing an amazing collaboration with Valentino.  If you're in the market for some fabulous, high end, star studded holiday looks, this is the line for you.

The wonderful and hilarious essayist David Sedaris is currently on tour, and he's stopping at Northridge this Saturday.  Amazingly, there are still a few tickets left, so we just have one word for you: Go!  If you can't, console yourself with some of Sedaris' best stories on NPR.

While most places wait to unveil their holiday decorations until after Thanksgiving, Christmas comes a little early to Pier 39, where their tree will be unveiled this Saturday evening.

There is an amazing culinary event happening tonight in Los Angeles in honor of the release of SF/NYC Chef Danny Bowien's Mission Chinese cookbook.  Featuring a banquet cooked by Bowien, as well as chef's from LA's Night + Market and Sqirl, SF's Tartine, and LA, NYC & Portland's Pok Pok, this is set to be a delicious time.

It's no secret that San Francisco is winning the NorCal vs. SoCal airport food battle, and Eater has outlined some of the best places to eat next time you're waiting for a flight at SFO.

What We're Talking About This Week

The San Francisco food scene has been blowing up lately, but the most in the know group of the best dining spots are the chefs.  This list of their ten favorite local restaurants is a great reference.

Los Angeles is a great place for a staycation, especially on a long weekend.  There are plenty of things going on, from the fair to theater to live music, over the next few days to keep Angelenos in town...

If you're up in NorCal for the weekend, Goop just released their updated guides to the Bay Area.  We like this one for the Napa Valley.

Also in NorCal is the Sausalito Arts Festival.  This annual event features the promised arts, along with lots of food and several bands.

LA hosted the Olympics in 1932 and 1984, and they are bidding on it a third time for 2024.

What We're Talking About This Week

We shared our favorite LA candy store this week, which features many amazing Scandinavian treats.  But these delicacies are about to get even more accessible in the rest of the country, with IKEA adding Swedish candies to their US stores.

A few weeks ago we were talking about our foam roller love, and this week we learned that not only can rollers help with myofascial self-release, but they can also be a great tool for healthy waist sculpting.

All this weekend, Hollywood is host to the Los Angeles Culture Festival.  This festival features music, food, and crafts from all over the world.

Right in time for the movie's twentieth anniversary, Clueless the Musical is going to be a real thing, and it's going to be amazing.  We can't wait for the song versions of As If, A Virgin Who Can't Drive, and I Hope Not Sporadically, plus the staging of the nautical wedding.

This Sunday is SF Pride, celebrated in the city's Castro, the historically gay neighborhood.  Many acts will take the stage after the parade, and we would recommend catching local legend Lady Bunny.

What We're Talking About This Week

Tasting Table just announced their annual Lobster Rumble in LA.  Tickets for the August 13th event - which features 17 chefs competing for the best lobster roll, to be judged by attendees - are available here.

We are obsessed with this foam roller, and Goop has shared an incredible guide to its use.  The tension release is incredible - the different rolling moves can undo all of the pain from sitting or making repetitive motions throughout the day.

There are still tickets available to spend this Sunday evening at SF's Castro Theatre with Judy Blume and Molly Ringwald, and we plan on being front and center to hear the author and actress in conversation about life, career, adolescence, and Blume's new book In the Unlikely Event.

Today is Nation Doughnut Day!  The past week or so seems to have brought a lot of favorite food days (including burgers and cheese), and today we want to treat ourselves yet again.... One of our LA favorite, Fonuts, has a healthier option with their vegan fonuts, selling for $2 all day - we recommend the salted caramel (pictured).

The Alameda Flea is this Sunday!  The sun has come out just enough in the Bay Area to motivate us to get outside, and across the Bay Bridge to one of the country's best flea markets this weekend... With so many different vendors, we can always find a treasure (or ten).
