Interior Design Inspiration: The Secret Garden

 Not so much an interior design as a garden inspiration, but the charming childhood favorite The Secret Garden still makes us wish for a private outdoor sanctuary all our own, full of our favorite garden decor.  For this post, we were inspired both by the Frances Hodgson Burnett classic, and a visit to Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, UK.

May Day!

It's finally May! Now is the time to start getting your backyard in shape, to be ready for summer BBQs.

We love this fringed umbrella for a bit of foreign-inspired glam on the patio. 

The string lights keep the party going late into the night. The propane fire pit is 

a striking focal point, perfect for keeping off the chill until summer really arrives. 

We love lanterns for a bit of romance, placed all over the garden. A couple flamingos 

 bring a touch of humor to the backyard. We would fill the planters with 

citrus and olive trees and place them everywhere. An outdoor rug helps define a 

seating area, and is comfortable on bare feet. We love these modern airy chairs, 

all of the comfort of a lounge chair, but they take up much less space.
