What We're Talking About This Week

Whenever the weather is nice in the North Bay, we love to get out of San Francisco and spend time on the coast. Tomales Bay Oyster Company has been one of our go-to spots for picnicking and oysters, but it is being shut down. We're thinking a goodbye trip may be in order this weekend...

Shepard Fairey is one of the most interesting graphic designers working today. His instagram is one of our favorites, so we are looking forward to the release of his new book, Covert to Overt. This Tuesday Moby will be interviewing Shepard at the Herb Alpert Educational Village in Santa Monica, which promises to be an amazing conversation.

One of our LA favorites is coming to the Bay Area!  Lemonade is always a go-to lunch spot on a busy day, and we love that they'll be adding locations in San Francisco, Walnut Creek, and Palo Alto next year.

As you know, we are huge James Bond fans. Daniel Craig is near the top of the list for favorite actors who've tackled the role, so we were thrilled to hear that Spectre won't be his last Bond film.

If you're in San Francisco this weekend, love live music, and are looking for something inexpensive to do, head to Golden Gate Park for the FREE three day bluegrass festival Hardly Strictly Bluegrass.

Coachella Kick Off!

This weekend kicks off two weeks of the Coachella Music Festival near Palm Springs.  We sadly had to cancel our trip to the desert festival this year, but we wanted to share some of the parties and places we would be going to were we able to make it.

The Do Over at the Ace Hotel - This long time LA party event has toured around the country before, and now it partners with the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs for Desert Gold Weekend

The DFM House - Hosted by the creative agency of the same name, this house is hosting pool parties over the festival's first weekend.  The exact location is undisclosed, but Rachel Zoe & Dolce Vita are hosting the Saturday party and Sabo Skirt will cover hosting duties on Sunday

LED Dayclub - Sometimes you just want to listen to music by a pool and sip a few cocktails... This is that party, and it's going on both weekends

Zero Gravity - If you are camping at Coachella, or staying at a hotel without a fun bar scene, you may want to check out this after hours option

The Living Desert - If you need a break from all of the music and parties, head to Palm Desert's zoo and spend some contemplative time visiting the animals or wandering through the botanical garden

Palm Springs Art Museum - Another quiet spot, this museum has the added benefit of air conditioning... They have some great modern art in their permanent collection, as well as an Ai Weiwei exhibit running through May

Tyler's Burgers - Nothing is better for a hangover than a big, juicy burger and fries - plus we love the name of this popular Palm Springs spot

King's Highway - This place is sure to be slammed since it's at the Ace Hotel, but they have a date shake, avocado toast AND fried chicken, so it's gotta be worth the wait

And of course, you can't forget the ever important festival fashion... If you forgot to pack anything, Revolve has you covered.

Happy Coachella!

H&M's Coachella Collection

Music festivals each have their own style, and H&M has created a collection based on the one that kicks off the summer music season: Coachella. Perfect for running from stage to stage out in the Indio Valley Desert, the collection features lots of airy lace and shorts.

Wide brim sun hats are a must for a bit of shade during the heat of the day.

The collection is available starting March 19th, and will also be sold at the H&M pop up shop at the festival. They are also giving away tickets, if you don't have yours already! That red dress is already on our shopping list...
