We recently attended the
Houghton Hall exhibition at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco. Featuring many treasures on loan from the grand Norfolk estate, the show is designed to make you feel as if you are walking through the rooms of the building itself building itself. Built by Britain's first Prime Minister Sir Robert Walpole in the 1720s, it was passed down through various branches of the family who still own the house today.
These were some of our favorite pieces from the show:
Knights sleeping in the Roses
Flatware with agate handles
A panel of hand painted chinoiserie wallpaper
Outfits for presentation to the king
The exhibition ends January 18th, catch it while it's still here (or better yet, visit the actual estate in England).
